Courtesy visit of The Rt. Rev. Dr. Sam Paul, Founder President National Christian Council to meet with Honourable Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. Of India Shri Ramadas Athawale on 17 July 2022.
The Honourable Minister was closely associated with Dr. Sam Paul in the establishment and running of English Medium Schools in Maharashtra state few years back. They both attended the United Nations Conference Against Racism and other Intolerances in Durban, South Africa for about 10 days and were in close touch through several meetings in Delhi, in Maharashtra, Hyderabad and in other cities.
It was good to renew the fellowship in Mumbai today and the Honourable Minister reminisced those days and was happy to reconnect after a gap due to covid pandemic and other factors. The Honourable Minister said that he will be visiting Andhra Pradesh some time and Dr. Sam Paul had assured that in almost all the districts National Christian Council chapters exist and many Church going Christians in Andhra Pradesh still have certificates that is the only reason that makes them eligible for the government schemes and projects.
During the Minister’s next visit a delegation of leaders will meet him in Andhra Pradesh to update him about the issues pertaining to the Social Justice and Empowerment in the State. The Minister’s office staff, leaders that work with him were all cordial and helpful with this visit and we look forward to many more meetings in the future for the welfare of Dalit communities for Social Justice and Empowerment of scores of people.
